So I'm going to get around to re-taking the Strengths test to see if they've changed at all, but here are the results from my test last year :-).
Maximizer- I love making good things even better. I don't get particularly excited about trying to make something bad into something good, because I'd rather invest in something that's already strong. I like to see people put into positions where they are most effective, because their strengths are put to use and thus enhanced in those situations.
Adaptability- I live in the moment. I love it when things get changed around last minute and I have to figure out a new plan of action. I'm incredibly spontaneous, and often initiate random trips to the beach, Donut Man, my home town, Hollywood, wherever.
Competition- As a musician I'm contantly competing with those around me. I hate losing, but outside of music stuff I am usually a good sport about things.
Individualization- I act differently around different people. Not that I'm wishy-washy, but I like to figure out how I can best interact with others. In group settings or around people that I don't know at all I tend to be pretty introverted, as I don't know how others will react to my actions.
Relator- I see others in terms of their commonalities with me. That sounds pretty conceited, I realize. However, tell me 5 things about yourself and I can figure out what we have in common. I love finding out that I know someone that you randomly know too, or that I've been to the town where you live, or just other random things like that. I seek to find common ground between myself and people who seem much different than me.
Maximizer and Relator are a pair for me, as are Individualization and Adaptability. It would get rather tedious to explain how, but I see those strengths working in conjunction more often then I see them working individually in my life.
I know these explanations were short, but that's because I didn't go back and re-read the explanations out of the book. What I'm left with are the boiled down, working definitions of how these strengths have played out in my life over the last year.

Stephen,
I just finished writing on like 10 people's blogs and got a great idea of what it is like for you every single week. I now respect you more than ever. I am kinda tired. So I'll keep this shorter than I normally would.
You are definitely adapter. The fact that you are okay with your plans changing around a little and it not really bothering you is great. It makes life so much simpler.
I think you are totally a relator too which is why you enjoy getting to really know all of us personally and why i get along so well with you. I really like relators.... not that i'm biased or anything.
I also really like your definition of individualization. I think it makes a lot of sense, which is nice considering the ones I read on the other blogs were kinda confusing.
Anyway, you are awesome and I am so glad that you are my alpha group leader.
hey hey alpha leader
ok first off, let me say how blessed i am to have you as my leader. seriously, even though your always late and sometimes just not there, i couldn't have asked for a better leader.
i think for you, relator needs to be higher. in interactions with you, you seem to really care about us, your group as a whole, but more so as individuals.
adaptability and individualization are a combo deal for you. i can see how you adapt to your situations. i totally get how it may be percieved as wishy-washy but i see it as a talent. not everyone can adapt to their situations and often times get in trouble because they are so inflexible.
well i sorta have an idea what its like to be you with reading blogs and such. but yes, see u later this week.
<3 lil
Steven,
I have to say, i think i see relator in you a lot. i don't know why, but as i was reading about it, it just sounded like you. i guess everything pretty much sounded like you, but that one the most. we don't have any of the same strengths but i think i'm ok with that. we can still be friends! :)

Hey Steven,
Yeah, so I have seen relator, because of the whole I roomed with the girl you used to date thing. That is a great strength for an alpha leader because it makes the other person feel more included if you are willing to take the time to figure out some common ground. I could also see how relator and maximizer work together with you in the posts you have left for people. If you see a strength you have, you like to tell those people the very best and most effective way to use that strength. That is pretty cool.

Steven Wright,
Let's see: Maximizer, Adaptability, Competition, Individualization, Relator.
Hmmmm.
Well, we have maximizer in common. Oh, we who are doomed to be known as "overachievers"! It is a good quality to have, though. You do things and do them well.
And, you are adaptable. Putting these two together, your adaptability probably makes it easier for you to be a maximizer. You can adjust to the situation at hand and end up with an excellent product. Oh, and you showed your adaptability as you managed to pass everyone else and get on the trolley that day we were late to english. That was pretty smooth.
Competition? I can sort of see the possiblity, but I haven't witnessed this firsthand. I sense that you are competitive with yourself a lot. That made no sense. What I mean is that you keep track of how you are doing against your potential. I may be completely off here, though.
Individualization is one that you can totally use as an alpha leader. You see people as unique and want to get to know them. That is so cool! Again, that will make you a super alpha leader!
It is SUCH a strength to be a relator. You like to see what you have in common with others. During our one-on-one, we talked about stuff we had in common, where we can relate to each other.
Well, I want to say something profound right now, but I am exhausted...I just commented on everyone's blogs all in a row...and I wrote a lot. So, I'll just say that you are a great guy, Steven, with an amazing combination of God-given strengths!
Keep on smiling and always laugh!
i think individualization shows cuz you threw away the group discussion thing and you really are a good relator to everyone in the group... pain in the butts like me and all the nice sweet girls to lol.
I can see some of these in you. You seem like you could be very competitive if you wanted, and I definitely see maximizer in you. Um, no, that discussion topic is gay. Let's do something BETTER! So we listened to you talk...jk. You're definitely a relator. You could be friends with pretty much anyone. I mean, c'mon, Caleb's your roommate...heehee. Just kidding! I love Caleb. But yeah, I'm done once I click on Publish. WHOO!
Good strengths = good alpha leader.
What a coincidence!!
Keep up the great work.
You're awesome!
Rachel
Wow that was hard. I'm gonna post on yours in a little while, once I finish my iThing for this week. I still need to do it cuz I had 8 members to go through....
Too many... blogs, brain... dead...
XD ! I'll be done when I prees publish too! Ok, I won't do my normal brilliance justice but here goes:
As for individualization I can see that one, and I totally get what u mean about beign around new people. It is so much easier to make my brother laugh than an audience who I met like mins ago. (I did stand-up)
You have to do this every week? Poor Steven. Um.. yeah Adaptability...oh ok. So you always just go with the flow I hear I don't care alot and stuff so yay great. Or you''l change things up and just expect us to switch gears that fast. Not yet in this group and not ever gonna be me, but careful, okays?
I think Maximizer and Relator and Individualization and Adaptability rock together. Totally group leader or group leader's adviser material. And I feel you with the whole conjunction thing talents aren't rly stand-alone things they all work together and make up (at least a little of)each other.
"I am chronically late, and I can't stand it. I wish I could figure out how to be on time." Lawl, just get the acheivers or arrangers to make you up a minute-by-minute schedule. I'm going to too... somehow.
Steven!
I see so many of these strengths just shine in you.. and they are definitely characteristics that make up a great alpha leader!!
I absolutely see you as a relator! and an adapter.. especially more so after hearing your story and a little more of who you are. Steven-- You have been such a blessing in my life. I know that sounds so cliche, but I truly mean it. You are great and God is using you in some really great ways! So thanks for being you, loving on all of us, for being inclusive, vulnerable, passionate, and real. I'm so looking forward to getting to know you more!
So i finished talking with you like an hour ago...and you are probably taking the strengths test again right now...but if nothing changed...you are a very good alpha leader...which basically summarizes your traits... yay way to use those strengths...ok bed
